The faculty for the Corporate Innovation and Entrepreneurship Program is largely drawn from existing Tepper School of Business faculty located in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The on-site Program Director in Doha is Dr Mohamed Dobashi. The program is further supported by a Steering Group with extensive entrepreneurial experience in the Middle East.
Dr Boni is the director and John R. Thorne Professor of Entrepreneurship at the Donald H. Jones Center for Entrepreneurship at the Tepper School of Business. He has extensive management, fund raising, investment, and technology development/commercialization experience in life science an high-tech/industrial markets. He has founded and held senior executive operating positions in numerous entrepreneurial companies that developed and marketed products and services in these market segments.
Mohamed A. Dobashi SJD
Dr Dobashi is Associate teaching Professor at Carnegie Mellon Qatar and Program Director of the Corporate Innovation and Entrepreneurship Program. He has a wealth of experience in the oil and gas sector, public sector and finance. Working for five big consulting firms, he has been a member of start-up projects throughout the world, including Europe, North America, the Middle East and the Arabian Gulf. While with Carnegie Mellon, he has been part of the initial start-up team responsible for the creation of the campus in Qatar.
Mr Demmler is Adjunct Professor of Entrepreneurship at the tepper School of Business and Director, Entrepreneurial Services at Innovation Works, a Pittsburgh-based venture investing and economic development organization funded by the state of Pennsylvania.
Dr Emerson is the David T. and Lindsay J. Morgenthaler Professor of Entrepreneurship. He is an experienced entrepreneur, corporate executive and educator. Prior to joining Carnegie Mellon, he was president and CEO of Arizona Technology Incubator, a public -private partnership that mentors promising young technology companies.
George Fechter MA, LLD
Mr Fechter has had a long and distinguished career as a businessman, entrepreneur and educator. He currently serves as CEO of the Soffer Organization, a major developer of commercial real estate in Southwestern Pennsylvania. He is a frequent lecturer in the entrepreneurship program at the Tepper School of Business at Carnegie Mellon University and has done extensive business in the Middle East.
Tom Jones MBA
Mr Jones currently serves as an Executive in Residence at the Don Jones Center for Entrepreneurship in the Tepper School of Business, and serves as a business advisor to Project Olympus at Carnegie Mellon University. He mentors Carnegie Mellon University centered research/business project teams on business ideas, formation, and planning. He is also working on some new initiatives that will help propel the value of entrepreneurship education the university currently provides, including investment and entrepreneurship initiatives in Doha, Qatar.
Dr White is currently Associate Teaching Professor of Entrepreneurship at Carnegie Mellon Qatar. He previously worked at a hedge fund, and founded three companies in Silicon Valley, California. He also managed labs or departments at Stanford University, Xerox Palo Alto Research Center, Apple Computer, and 2 research institutes on the campus of the National University of Singapore. Dr. White started his career with Post-Doctoral research at Stanford University.
