This is the real deal
Entrepreneurship is the means by which innovations are brought to life. Possibly one of the most difficult yet most important roles in a knowledge-based society is the role of the entrepreneur. Contrary to popular myth, entrepreneurs are not simply born though certain personal qualities such as creativity and perseverance are important. However, just as important, is a set of entrepreneurial skills and tools that can support dynamic decision-making in an uncertain environment – what can be described as an entrepreneurial toolbox.
Qatar’s National Vision 2030 to become a leading knowledge-based economy is contingent on a new cadre of entrepreneurs capable of building new technology-based firms and industries. The Technology Innovation and Entrepreneurship Program is designed to build the individual skills and tools to ensure entrepreneurial capabilities through an action-based pedagogy. Combining theory and practice, TIEP allows participants to “learn by doing” through participation in real venture creation projects.
