Technology Analysis
Duration: 8 weeks
This course provides the tools to conduct a competitive technology analysis. The main goal of the analysis is to make a preliminary assessment of the value of the technology under commercial investigation.
By the end of the course, students should be able to decide whether to continue working on the same technology or switch to different idea. Also, by the end of the course, students will reach the following milestones:
- Identify applications of value for the given technology from the Qatar National Priorities (eg Energy, Environment, Healthcare and ICT)
- Choose a preliminary application as a frame of reference
- Describe the technical system and complementary technologies
- Objectify the technology into different discreet technology functions
- Identify important performance and cost dimensions of the objectified technology components
- Identify the utility dimensions of your technology components in relation to the chosen application
- Map the given technology in relation to competing technologies
